Carpenters' Union Sends CCAA to Honda Indy

The exclusive tickets to VIP Pit Lane Suite 16 at the Honda Indy Toronto 2009 could not be purchased anywhere. But, on behalf of Local 27 of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, Vice-President, Walter Tracogna, in an extraordinary move of generosity, not only arranged for the Union to pay for Pit Lane Suite 16, but challenged the Union membership to donate to CCAA in order to receive their individual VIP treatment at the Indy. And indeed they did receive VIP status with three days of interaction under the awning covered stands right on Pit Lane where the bird's eye view was close enough to reach out and touch the drivers as they walked by.  Local 27 also invited CCAA to participate as guests and encouraged us to invite some of our loyal corporate supporters to join us there.

It was an awesome experience that Patti Falus, President  & CEO of Barter Network Limited won't soon forget!  She literally bumped into Grand Marshal Gene Simmons and had her picture taken with him. "It's not the music that pushes my buttons, he's an incredible businessman," Patti beamed.

Patti is no slouch as an entrepreneur/businesswoman herself. At a mere 40 something she is head of one of the most successful barter exchange companies in North America, a faithful CCAA supporter and now a CCAA Board Member.

In October, CCAA will honour her as
Huggum's Hero 2009 at our Public Safety Advocacy dinner.
